JKP Conducts Inspection Of SIM Vendors

In a continued effort to strengthen internal security and prevent the misuse of mobile communication services, J&K Police conducted special inspections of SIM card vendors in Shopian, Pulwama, Anantnag, Sopore, Awantipora & Handwara.

In a statement, police Spokesperson said, In Shopian, Police have launched a massive district-wide crackdown on the illegal issuance of SIM cards. The special drive, was carried out under the supervision of SSP Shopian Sh. Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary-JKPS, focuses on identifying and taking action against unscrupulous vendors issuing SIM cards without adhering to mandatory verification procedures a malpractice posing serious threats to both public safety and national security. During the operation, police teams carried out surprise inspections at multiple telecom outlets across the district.
