Interfaith Dialogue Conference Echoes Call For Peace & Coexistence

In a show of unity and shared values, Budgam on Tuesday hosted the 7th Interfaith Dialogue Conference to commemorate the life and teachings of Late Imam Khomeini (R.A). Themed “Interfaith Dialogue: Its Role in Cultivating Peace,” the event brought together a broad spectrum of voices—from religious scholars to civil society representatives—committed to nurturing understanding and peace in a divided world.

The conference served as a melting pot of faith, intellect, and conscience, where participants reflected not only on Imam Khomeini's global legacy but also on the urgent need for meaningful dialogue in Kashmir and beyond.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, one of the key voices at the gathering said that in today’s deeply polarized world, war cannot be a solution.

“When religious and community leaders come together to advocate for justice and understanding, we move a step closer to building a society rooted in compassion and co-existence. Every community leader should come together and leave aside differences for the sake of humanity. Together, we must build bridges, not barriers,” Mirwaiz said.
