Farooq Hopes For Early Restoration Of Statehood

National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, on Saturday reiterated the party's long standing demand for the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, warning that any further delay may leave them with no alternative but to move the Supreme Court.

Speaking to reporters in Pahalgam, Dr. Abdullah emphasized that eight months have passed since the government was formed in Jammu and Kashmir. “I am hopeful that when statehood is restored, we will also get the administrative powers necessary for genuine governance,” he said.
