New contract and county cap for opener Ben

IT HAS been a week to remember for Ben Compton, who celebrated being awarded Kent Men's Cap 223 with a new contract.

The 31-year-old was awarded Kent Men's cap number 223 during the lunch interval of Day One of Kent versus Northamptonshire, during Canterbury Cricket Week, after more than three standout seasons for the left-handed opening batter so far.

Across all formats, Compton has scored more than 4,700 runs for Kent at an average of more than 41, after making his debut away at Essex in 2022, scoring three centuries in his first three first-class innings.
