Nigel Farage’s party and Kemi Badenoch’s Tories are both resistant to net zero policies.

But the Energy and Net Zero Secretary warned their positions put thousands of new jobs at risk.

Mr Miliband spoke as Labour's green energy jobs bonanza that will bring 400,000 extra roles to the country’s “heartland communities’ by 2030 was unveiled today.

He said: “Reform has said they want to wage war on green energy investment, and that means waging war on these jobs, on the Siemens workers and the jobs in Hull, on the new jobs at VISION Ed Miliband the cable factory in Scotland, at the Isle of Wight making wind turbines, at the carbon capture and storage in Teesside.
