Bristol secure semi with big rivals as boss Lam says no motivation needed
June 01, 2025
|Irish Sunday People
PAT LAM's Bristol set up a play-off semi against bitter rivals Bath and the boss reckons they have nothing to fear from the league leaders.
Bears crossed the whitewash eight times, racking up their 16th try-scoring bonus point of the season — a record in the league as they finally blew Quins away.
It means they head to the Rec on Friday night for the semi-finals and a shot at the top dogs, while Leicester, who beat Newcastle 42-20, host Sale, edgy 30-26 victors at Exeter on Saturday.
Bristol's win here blew any play-off hopes Saracens and Gloucester had even though they both did their bit, beating second-string Bath and Northampton respectively, and it is down to the last four.
Bristol have decent form against Johann van Graan's side, having beaten them away once already this season and repeating the dose earlier this month in Cardiff when Bears took a home game there.
