Soaring temperatures and lightning hit our hazy, crazy, stormy day of summer
THE Blackpool Illuminations get an early start as lightning flashes behind the famous tower.
The big switch-on isn’t until August - but a thunderstorm gave bystanders a taste of the resort’ light show.
Friday's weather fluctuated wildly, from scorching highs of 29.4C in Suffolk to storms in Essex, Kent and the North West.
