Snappers captured Irish stars reaching fever pitch

WHAT a year for Irish sport, with the highlight undoubtedly being those remarkable wins by our Boy Boys in Green against Portugal and Hungary to keep the nation's World Cup hopes alive.

Many of these incredible achievements at home and abroad were captured by some of Ireland’s most talented Inpho sports photographers.

The images of Ireland's Troy Parrott celebrating scoring the first goal against Portugal at the Aviva with Josh Cullen, and Jayson Molumby will live long in the memory of Irish fans.

While there was disappointment for Irish rugby in the Six Nations, the British and Irish Lions made up for it when Hugo Keenan scored a last-minute series winning try against Australia.

In GAA, Kerry proved too good for Donegal in a one-sided All Ireland Football final, while Tipperary blew away Cork with a remarkable second-half comeback in one of the best hurling finals ever seen at Croke Park.
