Pat's are summit special as Galway victory sends them top of the pile

OUT from the cave and into the light, Stephen Kenny might sleep a little better this week. Particularly so with his team sitting top of the table.

A week ago, the St Pat's boss thought he was on track for a 1-0 win away to Bohemians only for the Gypsies to flip the game on its head with a remarkable injury-time win.

And judging by Kenny's programme notes for this clash with Galway United, the former Ireland boss had thought of little else all week but that horror show.

Kenny said it was “unforgiveable” to concede two late goals and wrote: “The pain of that resonates and infiltrates your system and leaves you in a cave where light doesn't exist”

But at a ground dubbed the ‘Stadium of Light’, Kenny was seeing clearly as Kian Leavy and Zack Elbouzedi sealed victory for Saints.
