Colleagues to line out with Kevin's loved ones for his funeral service

Tragic garda will be laid to rest on Friday

OFFICERS from across Ireland are expected to gather for the funeral of Garda Kevin Flatley who will be laid to rest on Friday, it has emerged.

The 1.30pm service is due to take place in his adopted home town of Balbriggan in north county Dublin.

It takes place at St Peter and Paul's Church in the town and will be a family funeral, but there will be full Garda honours.

He will then be laid to rest at Newcastle Cemetery in south Co Dublin, where he previously lived.

A notice posted on RIP.ie last night confirmed the funeral details of the 49-year-old who lost his life in the line of duty.
