Look for horses with the ability to stay beyond this trip and a liking for soft or heavy going. Course form is a bonus, but the ability to grind out a finish is essential.

The obvious improver here is Whatsgoingonmarvin, who won well in the mud at Sandown last time and ought to be a big player if able to cope with the widest stall.

The stats suggest that won't be easy, however, and he is likely to be forced very wide in the early stages.

TIPSY TIGER is a solid contender if the rain arrives as predicted.
