THE arrest of Graham Linehan for tweets about transgender people was raised before the US Congress yesterday, as Nigel Farage told US tech chiefs: "This could happen to you.

The Father Ted writer, 57, said he had been detained by five armed officers at Heathrow Airport after flying in from Arizona, US, and told he was under arrest over three posts on X.

Speaking of the Dubliner's arrest, Reform UK leader Mr Farage told the US House Judiciary Committee:

"He put out some tweets months ago when he was in Arizona, and months later he arrives at Heathrow Airport to be met by five armed police.
