PSNI PROBE MURDER BID ON COP WITH SHOT FIRED

A PSNI officer has been seriously injured after being hit with a stolen police car.
A shot was fired at the vehicle in the incident early yesterday morning in Downpatrick, Co Down.
Police have opened an attempted murder investigation, saying the act had the potential to cause “fatal injuries”.
