A SELF-PROCLAIMED prophet who promised a Mali victory in the Africa Cup of Nations has been arrested after the team lost in the quarter-finals.

Karamogo Sinayoko allegedly took the equivalent of €35,000 from fans after he said God had told him Mali would beat Tunisia in the last 16.

When Mali scraped through on penalties, spectators believed his otherworldly gifts were genuine.
