Light aircraft comes down in field near airport

ONE person died yesterday after a light aircraft crashed into a field near an airport.
It is understood the pilot was the only person on board the plane when it came down close to Waterford Airport.
Witnesses had reported that it had been losing height rapidly just before 1pm.
The aircraft appeared to have been severely damaged after the incident.
