Norgaard keen to go from zero to 60 in Arteta trophy drive

CHRISTIAN NORGAARD has told Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta he is ready to play more than 60 games this season - even if he is not guaranteed a starting role.

Norgaard, 31, arrives from Brentford to add depth and experience to a squad that ran thin last season.

The Denmark international may not be first choice every week, but he knows his chance will come.

“It's about being available. It's about being fit,” Norgaard said. “I'm used to playing 38 games, plus a couple of cup games, but here it will be close to 60 games, maybe.

“You need a full squad and for me it is about being available. I know my chances will come and it's just about taking them when they're there.”
