A PLANNED ballroom at Donald Trump's Doonbeg golf resort will have no impact on a protected snail, according to the resort with a report claiming the species is already dying off at the site.

The US President's love for ballrooms is well known, with a huge €339m structure planned for the White House causing controversy this year.

Planning documents have recently been lodged with Clare County Council for the Doonbeg resort's planned 320-capacity ballroom.
