NFL player's 'assault' was not reported to the gardai

NFL QUARTERBACK Skylar Thompson didn't report his alleged assault in Dublin to gardai, the Justice Minister has said.

It was reported the Pittsburgh Steelers player was attacked and robbed over the weekend while he was visiting Ireland with his team as they played the Minnesota Vikings in Croke Park on Sunday.

However, Jim O'Callaghan has said there were no reports of this assault made to gardai.

Speaking at the Department of Justice yesterday, he added: "No complaint has been made to An Garda Siochana in respect of that alleged criminal offence.
