More addicts over 55 seek out charity

MORE older people are seeking services for drug addiction and homelessness, new research shows.

The number of people over 55 who sought support from the homelessness and addiction charity Merchants Quay Ireland last year has risen.
Almost 900 over-55s were supported by MQI in 2024, compared to 692 in 2023, according to its latest annual report.
