Mount shines to help ease the pressure on Amorim and insists all the players are battling together for the boss

- BY STEVEN RAILSTON

MASE IN THE PACK

MASON MOUNT fist-pumped and exhaled to the Stretford End after firing Manchester United into the lead.

It took just eight minutes for Mount to vindicate his selection and the standing ovation for the midfielder when he was substituted spoke volumes. It was probably his best performance for United.

"It was a big moment for us," said Mount. "Every game [is big], but [there] was a lot of pressure on the performance, on the win. Being at home, coming off a difficult result, it was so important for us to start sharp. That was something that we spoke about in the dressing room.

"Bruno spoke before the game, before kickoff in the huddle. So I felt that, I felt the energy at the beginning of the game and to get the goal really settled us.
