Killer Hodgins to be sentenced later over €322k find

A CONVICTED drug dealer - who killed a friend of the late Lord Henry Mount Charles - is to be sentenced later for having €322,000 stashed in his home.

Michael Hodgins, 54, shot Slane Castle gamekeeper Tim Kidman in 1989 and was convicted of manslaughter the following year.

Hodgins, of Pearse Park, Drogheda, Co Louth, has admitted money laundering.

At Dundalk Circuit Court yesterday, Detective Garda Donal Clarke told prosecutor Vincent Heneghan a warrant was executed on June 5, 2020 to search the accused's home.

SEARCH

The search was conducted by detectives from Drogheda Garda Station accompanied by the armed support unit.

Hodgins was not there when officers searched his home.
