With Oasis back in the UK this week, it's the final time for Irish people to nip over to London for their last two epic Wembley Stadium gigs.

Writer JAKE RICHARDS was up for a piece of the crowd-pleasing action. He went to learn the ropes on the Wonderwalk tour of Manchester - soaking in the streets where the Gallaghers picked up their signature swagger. But could he win the approval of their school friend (and tour guide) Joe Feeley?

"THIS stool here?" I fear the guitar shop guy is taking the mick.

Still, I plonk myself on the nondescript seat and wait for the spirit of Oasis to wash over me.

Truth is I'll try anything for even a slice of the limelight those lads have had. And time's starting to Slide Away from me.

While they're pocketing half a billion from reunion tours, I'm rubbing pennies together for a knockoff bucket hat I'm told 'looks the part'.

So this is my Masterplan... 1. Come to Manchester. 2. Retrace the steps of music royalty and hope some stardust rubs off. From hapless hanger-on to readymade rock star.

All that feels Half The World Away as I squat gingerly on this unspectacular perch.
