LABOUR OF LOVE AS WARD DOCUMENTS MAGIC OF CUP

JOEL WARD has become something of a TV star on the back of his “whirlwind” Wembley fairy tale.

Former Crystal Palace captain Ward helped lift the FA Cup last year as they upset Pep Guardiola’s mighty Manchester City.

Ward, who has signed for Swansea as a free agent, has done punditry for TNT Sports through Palace’s Europa Conference League run and now the broadcaster has also made a brilliant new documentary on the magic of the FA Cup.

‘FA Cup: The People's Story’ features Palace's heroics, Everton's 1966 win, Sunderland's 1973 win over Leeds, the 1989 final and also the 2015 women’s final, which was the first to be played at Wembley.

But it digs deeper with some powerful social commentary and just what it meant to Palace and South London to win their first-ever trophy.
