Judge slams disruptive 'schoolboy' Burke in costs row

A HIGH Court judge described transgender row teacher Enoch Burke as "acting like a schoolboy" over his repeated interruptions yesterday.

More than €40,000 has been seized from his bank account on foot of orders enforcing the payment of fines owed.

Mr Justice David Nolan also ordered him to pay legal costs incurred by his former employer, Wilson's Hospital School and the Attorney General in the proceedings. Citing his Christian beliefs, Burke was suspended over his refusal to address a pupil as "they/them".
