McMillan looking forward to home bow as he says it must become a fortress
CLAYTON McMILLAN loved his first game at Thomond Park so much the experience brought him back for more - and now he wants to bring that old fortress feeling back to the place.
Tonight, the former Chiefs boss who led the All Blacks XV against Munster just over 11 months ago, is in the home seat for the first time as the Reds face Cardiff at home.
“I'm really looking forward to it,” said McMillan. “I've had a matchday experience as an away team at Thomond Park, it will be fantastic if we get a bumper crowd this week.
“The guys thrive on playing at home here or in Cork, we need to have consistency to our game and part of that is when we play at home making sure it’s a fortress and people dislike coming here.
