Buried quake victim rescued after FIVE days

A DAZED but conscious hotel worker is pulled from the rubble five days after the earthquake that rocked Myanmar.

The 26-year-old was put on a stretcher after the miraculous rescue by a joint Myanmar-Turkish team shortly after midnight yesterday.

Officials said he was saved from what was previously the sixth floor of the Hotel Aye Chan Thar, in the capital Naypyitaw.

Images were posted online by the Myanmar Fire Services Department.

Hours earlier, rescuers retrieved a 63-year-old woman who had been trapped for 91 hours.

Elsewhere, it was reported that a team of Chinese workers had saved four people from the ruins of an apartment complex.
