HENDO HAS SHIELD DAY

Keeper Dean and cool kid Devenny are Palace heroes in another Wembley triumph
LIVERPOOL can take comfort in the fact the winner of the Community Shield has not gone on to win the big one in May for the last six years.
But it will still irk Reds boss Arne Slot that they suffered more Wembley woe under him after he said beforehand he wanted to get a winning feeling here following a Carabao Cup loss to Newcastle in March.
Yet it was Crystal Palace who experienced joy at the national stadium for the second time in 85 days. Back in May they beat Manchester City to lift the FA Cup.
Dean Henderson was a penalty hero that day, denying Omar Marmoush.
Here he was at it again, this time in a shootout to help Palace upset Premier League champions Liverpool.
There was a tip of the cap from the Palace shot-stopper when he pulled off a great save to deny Alexis Mac Allister.
But it was those watching who should have been doffing their headwear out of respect for the keeper. It was a fine save.
