'He is my da but he is still the Sergeant Major as well'

A YOUNG soldier has spoken of how he deals with having his father as his boss on a dangerous peace mission in Lebanon.

Private Adam Enfield, from Co Donegal, is on his first mission to southern Lebanon with the Irish 125 Infantry Battalion and his father Paddy is the most senior Non-Commissioned Officer on the trip.

He is the Battalion Sergeant Major, which means he is in charge of the welfare of privates and NCOs in the 339-strong Irish battalion, part of the UNIFIL peace mission in the country.

But Adam says both men are managing their relationship by knowing when to keep it professional or when the personal aspect kicks in.
