Fatal Luas crash was 'unavoidable'

AN inquest into a fatal incident between a Luas tram and a pedestrian lying on the track heard evidence that the collision was “unavoidable”.

Dublin District Coroner's Court also heard that Luas operator, Transdev, had implemented a number of changes as a result of the fatal collision near the Green Line terminus at Broombridge.

These include the imposition of a 25kph speed limit on any area where individuals are reported to be trespassing on the line.
