Trump brands key a 'traitor' supporter as they clash over Epstein files release

- CHRISTOPHER BUCKTIN

DONALD Trump has gone to war with one of his most loyal lieutenants, Marjorie Taylor Greene, after she turned on him over the Jeffrey Epstein files.

The pair have exchanged increasingly hostile attacks in recent days, signalling a dramatic collapse in their relationship.

President Trump called the Republican US representative from Georgia "wacky" and labelled her a "traitor".

The dispute intensified ahead of a key vote this week on the Epstein Files Transparency Act - legislation that would require the US Justice Department to release all unclassified material linked to the paedophile financier.

"All I see 'Wacky' Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!" Mr Trump wrote on his Truth Social account, accusing her of turning on him after he advised against a future Senate run.

"I can't take a ranting lunatic's call every day," he added, later pledging to support any Republican challenger who stands against her in next year's midterm elections.
