ANDY FARRELL absorbed the blame in the press conference post-Pumas.

Disrespect, indecision & poor selection. The only way is up, Andy..

I'M TO BLAME-WORTHY BUT HARDLY TRUE

The loss was his fault, he said, he took the full responsibility. Don't buy that.

There are, at minimum, two backs and three forwards who have done themselves irretrievable damage when it comes to Test selection and a further group who won't be first-choice Test starters without a spate of injuries.

It was a good day to be Irish (well, Leinster specifically) and not playing because the logical conclusion following Argentina at The Aviva, 24-28, three tries conceded, is that the First Test XV will be even 'greener' than first envisaged.

INSULTING LOS PUMAS WHOSE DUMB IDEA WAS THAT?

FOR an organisation that spends so much money on PR (and spin doctors) you might think a bit of respect could have been found for Argentina, currently ranked fifth in the world.

Felipe Contepomi's crew have posted wins over South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and France in the last year while they were just three points the wrong side of Ireland last November.

But the decision was that, no, threetime Rugby World Cup semi-finalists Argentina could not be recognised as a proper Lions match and no caps would be given to Lions players because... Well, we don't know why.

The Aviva result? Snobbery/Elitism 0-1 Argentina.

FORCE, REDS, WARATAHS..

FIRST up are Force in Perth this Saturday. They finished ninth of 11 teams in Super Rugby, posting four wins from 14 games, finishing with a five game losing streak. Veteran scrum-half Nic White will be a familiar face.
