Big pot eclipses previous record breaking ticket

THE record-breaking €250million jackpot EuroMillions win eclipses the €175m record for the largest cheque ever presented in the famous Winners' Room.

That winner was sold by Reilly's Daybreak on Main Street, The Naul, Co Dublin, in February 2019.

The winning numbers for Tuesday's EuroMillions draw were: 13, 22, 23, 44, 49, and Lucky Stars 3 and 5.

National Lottery CEO Cian Murphy said: "We are absolutely thrilled to see this incredible and record win for an Irish EuroMillions player!"

Here are the Irish EuroMillions jackpot winners to date:

1. July 2005: Dolores McNamara from Limerick, was Ireland's first and biggest EuroMillions winner scooping more than €115m.

2. July 2008: A lucky player from Co Tipperary won a €15m jackpot in Carrick-on-Suir.

3. June 2009: A family syndicate shared the jackpot with a British winner, taking home more than €29.4m in Dublin.
