Amorim hints at sticking with defensive switch

MANCHESTER UNITED'S back four could be here to stay after Ruben Amorim insisted he would not revert to a back three every week when players return from injury and international duty.

Amorim switched shape for the first time as head coach in the win against Newcastle and could stick with it against Wolves tonight.

After showing signs of flexibility for the first time in his 14 months in charge at Old Trafford, Amorim suggested a back four would be for life and not just Christmas, even when key men return.

Amorim shifted shape with Noussair Mazraoui, Amad and Bryan Mbeumo away on international duty, while injuries have mounted with Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt, Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes all on the treatment table.
