I'VE been testing the portable satellite device Starlink Mini which has been designed to give you decent internet connectivity on-the-go.

As the name implies, the device is a more compact version of the residential Space X dish, Starlink Standard Kit.

Both are available in Ireland from Harvey Norman, with the Mini costing €299 and the Standard Kit priced at €349.

For the Mini, you also need to buy a Roam plan which offers speeds of up to 100Gbps.

There are two options — for €40 per month you get 50GB of data, and for €89.99 its unlimited data.

If you're someone who travels a lot or are a campervan owner, then the unlimited plan makes most sense, but if you're only an occasional traveller then the 50GB plan should be enough.

Both plans are contract-free so you can cancel at any time.
