AMBER BARRETT has detailed the post-mortem that took place after Ireland's shock 4-0 defeat against Slovenia in February.

AMBER ALERT

The Girls in Green suffered their heaviest competitive defeat in almost 13 years when they followed up a less than convincing win against Turkey with a mistake-littered performance in Koper.

Carla Ward's side were 3-0 down by half-time and never looked like staging a comeback after the break.

That led to Ward making a series of phone calls to get to the bottom of the display.

Barrett revealed: "After the camp Carla (right) called every player individually. We just went through a debrief, she gave me her side of things and I gave her my side of things.

"It was very open. That's what I will say about the beginning with Carla - it is very open and direct, which I love.

"It is important that a coach asks, 'What do you think went wrong?', because my understanding of what happened is different to what Carla or Courtney saw.
