A dozen students & researchers fleeing Gaza arrive at TCD

A DOZEN students and researchers from Gaza have arrived in Ireland to study at Trinity College Dublin amid the ongoing onslaught by Israel.

Their fees have been waived as they are here as part of the University of Sanctuary scheme, which TCD joined in 2021.

The two researchers and 10 students - eight of whom are postgraduates and two undergraduates - are due to begin their studies at Trinity "as soon as possible", according to a college spokesperson.

She told this newspaper: "As you'll appreciate, they will need time to settle."
