Warning for all 26 counties as winds sweep in

- BY CONOR HENEGHAN

A STATUS Yellow wind warning has been issued to all 26 counties ahead of what is set to be a wet and very windy day across the country tomorrow.

The alert, issued by Met Eireann on Sunday morning, indicates that very strong and gusty southerly winds will arrive in the early hours of Tuesday and continue to make an impact until the evening.

Coastal areas are set to be the worst affected, with gale-force winds possible while the warning is in place from 3am until 9pm.

During this time, there will also be an increased flood risk in coastal areas due to the coincidental arrival of very high spring tides.

Met Eireann has warned that potential impacts throughout the country deluge tonight and into Tuesday morning.
