Dessie fumes as wides cost Dubs dearly against champs
DESSIE FARRELL said a wasteful Dublin were 'at odds with themselves' as they lost to Armagh at Croke Park, in the absence of captain Con O'Callaghan.
Kieran McGeeney's men are now guaranteed to top their group and claim the one automatic All-Ireland quarter-final place on offer with a game to spare.
It also left Dublin fighting for their lives going head to head with Derry in the final round at a neutral venue in a fortnight.
A draw will be enough for Dublin to stay alive, but if Derry win and Galway defeat Armagh, the capital side will finish bottom of the group and exit the All-Ireland race. O’Callaghan was sorely missed yesterday as Dublin had 23 misses in total, including 19 wides, with five of them two point efforts in the second half.

Expect a rule of Laur
NEWSBOY'S ITV SELECTIONS POET LAUREATE gets the vote to make the most of the weight he receives from rivals in the Fitzdares Sovereign Handicap Hurdle (3.35) at Windsor. The form of his two-and-three-quarter-length defeat of Phoenix Risen at Wincanton nine days before Christmas needs improving on, but the Chris Gordon trainee has plenty more to come. Nemean Lion defends his title in the Weatherbys Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide Hurdle (3.00), but preference is for ALTOBELLI, for whom conditions are tailor made. LARGY FORCE is also at her best when the mud is flying, and a 2lb rise for a score at Uttoxeter may not be enough to prevent the follow-up in the Fitzdares Mares' Handicap Chase (2.25). He'll go off at cramped odds for the Grade 2 Fitzdares Your Personal Bookmaker Lightning Novices' Chase (1.50) but BE AWARE should make no mistake.
