Traitors star: Sport helped me integrate

TRAITORS Ireland winner Vanessa Ogbonna has reflected on her childhood, of which she spent eight years in direct provision, as her new RTE show United FC hits screens.

The 29-year-old is the host of the new series which sees 15 teenagers from diverse Irish backgrounds brought together to train in the lead-up to a big tournament.

Sports and coaching has always been a huge part of Vanessa's life, and is something she credits with helping her to integrate with her community after moving to Tramore, Co Waterford, from Lagos, Nigeria, at the age of six.
