Ratoath put down marker in Meath race
September 01, 2025
|Irish Daily Mirror
THE 2024 and 2023 Meath senior football champions — Dunshaughlin and Summerhill — both avoided shock group stage exits by the skin of their teeth yesterday.
With Dunshaughlin falling to a one-point defeat to Trim, they were left needing Meath Hill to beat Rathkenny to stay alive.
Rathkenny led going into stoppage time before a two-pointer from Meath Hill's Cormac Sheehy saw them triumph on a 1-13 to 1-12 scoreline and also save Dunshaughlin’s season.
With Meath Hill, Dunshaughlin and Rathkenny all finishing on two points it came down to score difference in the games between the three sides to decide second place, with results against group winners, Trim, excluded.
