Paedophile former SF press man sent back to prison
October 25, 2025
|Irish Daily Mirror
A FORMER Sinn Fein press officer who was released from jail last August after serving nine months of an eighteen-month prison sentence for child sex abuse offences, has been returned to prison.
Earlier this week during a hearing at Coleraine Magistrates Court, Michael McMonagle, formerly of Limewood Street in the Bogside area of Derry, admitted breaching one of his conditions of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.
The 44-year-old accessed the internet without the approval of his designated risk manager.
The condition was one of many imposed on McMonagle last November when he was sentenced to 18 months, half in prison and half on licence, after he admitted committing fourteen child sex abuse offences.
