Louis: I've lost my mum, sister and Liam but I have finally found a sense of purpose

- BY MARK JEFFERIES Showbiz Editor

LOUIS Tomlinson says grief hit him hard and left him feeling guilty, but finding love has helped him to enjoy life again.

The One Direction star lost his mum, Johannah Deakin, in 2016 around the height of his fame.

His sister Felicite later died from a fatal combination of drugs in March 2019 and his close friend and former bandmate Liam Payne fell to his death from a hotel in Buenos Aires last year.

But on Steven Bartlett's Diary of a CEO podcast, Louis said he is in love with new girlfriend Zara McDermott and feels positive about life.

The 33-year-old said: “One thing I remember about grief, when you're in the midst of it, you could stub your toe, and something like that is just utterly unjust. Little things like that I really struggled with when I was grieving.

"Because of the weight of stuff that had happened, there was a moment in my life where it felt like I couldn't win and, in fact, I could only lose.”
