Netanyahu's jet avoids Ireland over arrest fears

ISRAELI Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu avoided flying over Ireland on his visit to the US in case of an emergency landing that could lead to his arrest.

It comes as world waits to see if the US President and Netanyahu eventually cut a deal on tariffs which could pave the way for Donald Trump to tell other countries how to negotiate with him.

Netanyahu arrived in Washington DC, on Sunday night, ahead of two days of meetings with Trump and senior US officials.

According to Israeli media, he took a flight path 400km longer to avoid flying over countries that might enforce the International Criminal Court arrest warrant against him.
