Mistrial is declared in case of U.S. rape rap firefighter

IRISH firefighter Terence Crosbie's rape trial in Boston was declared a mistrial after the jury failed to come to a unanimous decision.

Last night Irish time at Suffolk Superior Court the jury sent a note to the judge saying it was deadlocked.

Mr Crosbie has now seen his initial bail bond increased from $10,000 to $50,000 as he was deemed a flight risk.

He will face a second trial later this year, with a provisional date of October 14 for the case to go before the court.
