CALLUM MCGREGOR briefly did something that no one else has managed in the past few turbulent days at Celtic.

In an instant, he brought some unity and had everyone connected with the club on the same page of shared joy with the sheer brilliance of his wonder strike to sink St Mirren.

In terms of the stand housing the away fans, it didn’t last long. Within moments of the thunderbolt hitting the net and the wild goal celebrations, chants of Sack The Board shot straight back to the top of the charts again.

At the final whistle, McGregor led his team to that area of the ground just as he had led them during the game. He seemed to be calling for togetherness. For everyone to be as one.

Another example of the way the skipper understands the full picture whether he's got a ball at his feet or a thought in his head.
