KELLY: ATHY HAVE A POINT TO PROV'
November 19, 2025
|Irish Daily Mirror
KILDARE star Niall Kelly wants to make provincial progress with Athy having been ‘envious’ of Naas over the years.
Athy are through to Leinster's last four and will face Portarlington in Newbridge on Saturday week.
The star studded reds pulled off a surprise win in Kildare when they ended Naas’ drive for five.
Now they want to push on and go one better than 2021 and 2023 provincial finalists Naas.
Kelly is joined in the Athy team by county stars Kevin Feely, David Hyland and James McGrath, as well as Tyrone legend Cathal McCarron.
Attacker Kelly said: “Our whole focus up until four weeks ago was just to get through the Kildare Championship and win that.
“Having got through that, and beaten Summerhill, we can refocus on our next goal again, which is a Leinster semifinal.
