Half admitted to depression and suicide thoughts

HALF of those in homeless services struggle with thoughts of depression, anxiety and suicidal ideations, a new study has found.

A report by Depaul and Mental Health Reform has discovered that while mental health issues are high in Ireland, they are a lot more prevalent among the homeless community.

In Depaul’s homeless services, 37% of residents said their mental health difficulties were so severe they required intervention.
