Help Navy vet find tortoise shipmate

A retired Navy veteran is on a quest to reconnect with an old “shipmate” from six decades ago - a giant tortoise.

Back in 1964, Simon Murdoch, now 88, from Kinloss in Moray, was serving aboard HMS Owen when the Royal Navy vessel stopped at the Seychelles.
The island's governor, the Earl of Oxford and Asquith, gifted the crew a giant tortoise named Theresa. Simon was put in charge of her care, feeding her daily, and even polishing her shell.
The bond he formed with Theresa, then 35, warmed the hearts of many, including the Daily Mirror who published a picture of the pair that year.
