There's panic over the tricol-our being flown in parts of Dublin, because it's now deemed "anti-migrant" to display it.

Funny how it's fine for crowds at Kneecap concerts, but not for lampposts in the flats. Who decides?

The tricolour was a big part of my life, growing up as a good republican. We don't fly ours enough in Ireland, in my view.

Some countries, like Switzerland, proudly display theirs everywhere, from houses, cars and offices, in a show of Swiss patriotism. Maybe colonised minds are paralysed at the idea. But I never "learned to be nervous" of flags, as an Irish Times columnist meekly said this week.

The sight of flags drive certain people spare.

I have a massive Stars and Stripes in my house that sets these types off on rants about Palestine, Trump or whatever else.
