Death rap driver 'drunk when he crashed into lorry'

A MAN was drunk at the wheel of his car when he drove across a road and ploughed into a lorry, killing its driver, a court heard yesterday.
Niall O'Halloran, of Woodfield Drive, Newcastle West, Co Limerick, is accused of dangerous driving causing the death of father of two Arturs Birznieks at the N21, Reens East, Ardagh, Co Limerick, on March 18, 2022. He also faces a charge of driving while intoxicated.
He has denied both charges at his trial, which opened yesterday before Limerick Circuit Criminal Court.
